NPCL per unit rate in Greater Noida & GN West (2026)

Short answer: an NPCL domestic connection in Greater Noida or Greater Noida West pays ₹5.50 to ₹7.00 per unit depending on monthly usage, plus a fixed charge of ₹110 per kW of sanctioned load and 5% electricity duty — the same UPERC slabs as the rest of Gautam Buddh Nagar. The slabs:

Is NPCL cheaper than UPPCL?
The per-unit energy charge is identical— both NPCL (Greater Noida & GN West) and UPPCL/PVVNL (Noida) bill on the same UPERC-approved ₹5.50–₹7.00 domestic slabs. Where NPCL differs is reliability (fewer, shorter cuts in most of its area) and small prepaid / timely-payment rebatesthat can nudge the effective rate down. So it's not a cheaper tariff — it's usually a smoother supply.
The society prepaid-meter catch (read before renting in GN West)
This is the single biggest reason people search "why is my NPCL rate ₹8?". In many GN West and Greater Noida high-rises you do not have a direct NPCL meter — the society holds one bulk connection and resells power through a prepaid sub-meter:
- You recharge through the society's app/portal like a phone recharge — get the login from the owner on day one.
- The blended per-unit rate is often higher than the ₹5.50–₹7.00 tariff, because common-area load, losses and DG are mixed in.
- Ask the society office for the current blended ₹/unit — it varies tower to tower and it's the number that actually hits your pocket.
