How the calculation works
- Slab billing: your first 150 units cost ₹5.50 each, the next 150 cost ₹6.00, and so on — crossing a slab only re-prices the units inside that slab, not your whole bill.
- Fixed charge: ₹110 per kW of sanctioned load per month, whether you consume or not. Most 2-3 BHK flats have 2–5 kW sanctioned.
- Electricity duty: 5% of the energy + fixed charges, collected for the state.
- DG backup: billed by your society at its own rate — typically ₹15–25/unit. It never appears on a direct UPPCL/NPCL bill, only on society bills.
